Is skin needling painful?

We apply a numbing cream before treatment, so most clients feel only mild pressure or a light scratching sensation. Comfort levels vary by area — the forehead and around the lips can feel more sensitive than cheeks. We pace the treatment to your comfort.

How many skin needling sessions will I need?

Most concerns respond best to a course of 3 to 6 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Acne scarring typically needs the upper end of that range. We map out the full plan during your first consultation.

What is the downtime after skin needling?

Skin is typically pink and feels slightly warm for 24 to 48 hours, similar to a mild sunburn. Most clients return to work the next day. Avoid active skincare, makeup and sun exposure for 48 hours after treatment.

Can skin needling help with acne scarring?

Yes — skin needling is one of the most effective non-laser treatments for acne scarring. By triggering controlled micro-injuries we stimulate collagen and remodel scar tissue. Best results come from a structured course of treatments.

Can I have skin needling if I have active breakouts or rosacea?

We avoid needling over active breakouts to prevent spreading bacteria, and we typically defer treatment if rosacea is in an active flare. Once skin has settled we can plan a tailored course.

SKIN NEEDLING

Skin Needling, also known as Micro Needling, is a minimally invasive skin treatment that can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, large pores and sun damages skin. The treatment involves using a device with fine needles to create microscopic injuries in the skin. This triggers the skin’s natural healing response, resulting in the production of new collagen and elastin. All Skin Needling treatments include a complimentary Dermalux LED and a recovery Bio-Cellulose Mask.

Being a fractionated treatment, recovery is fast, and downtime is minimal, but the total healing time depends on the individual. Expect initial blotchiness and possible swelling which usually resolves in a matter of 2-4 days, you may flake a little for another couple of days.
To experience the maximum, long-term effects of skin needling a series of 4-6 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart is generally recommended. This will be discussed with your therapist at your first appointment.
• It is recommended to prepare your skin with active ingredients to maximise results and ensure safe and effective treatment for a minimum of 14 days before your treatment.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medication, if possible, for 2 weeks prior to your treatment
• Avoid use of aspirin and aspirin containing medications 1 week prior to your treatment
• Avoid excessive sun exposure 3 days prior to your treatment
• Avoid alcohol consumption for at least 24 hours prior to your treatment
• Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks before or after having any Dermal Filler/Anti-Wrinkle
• Schedule your appointment at least 1-2 weeks prior to a special event

• Avoid using spray tan products for 48–72 hours
• Avoid UV exposure, saunas, spas or chlorinated pools for 48 hours
